Q: WHERE IS IRIDE CB LOCATED?

A: We are located at the Carolina Beach Food Lion Plaza on your right as you come over Snows Cut Bridge. 1401 N Lake Park Blvd. Carolina Beach, NC 28428

Q: HOW OLD MUST I BE TO RENT A BIKE?

A: You must be 18 years old in order to sign a liability waiver. Please note a valid driver’s license is also required to rent an eBike specifically.

Q: SHOULD I COME IN ADVANCE OF MY PICKUP TIME?

A: Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your equipment pickup time to check in and get fitted to your bike. Contact us if you are lost or running behind. We have an orientation on how to operate the bike and go over general safety procedures. 

Q: CAN I PAY IN CASH?

A: We currently only accept VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, AMEX for our rentals.

Q: SHOULD I MAKE A RESERVATION?

A: We recommend making a reservation to ensure that inventory is available during your preferred rental timeframe. 

Q: HOW DOES AN EBIKE WORK?

A: An electric bike (eBike) is a regular bike equipped with gears, an electric motor, and a battery. They’re also known as pedal-assisted bikes. The battery generally has a range of 25 to 35 miles, depending on how much you pedal and how many levels of assist you use. The eBike requires that you pedal, just like with a regular bike, but the engine helps you move smoothly giving you extra power. The bikes have multiple levels of assist. If you are traveling a long distance, we recommend you use a lower pedal assist number such as 1 or 2. The battery has enough capacity for you to enjoy a long ride, but if it runs out of juice, do not worry. The eBike is a normal bike when the motor is off.

Very important: Never walk with the bike if pedal assist is powered on, as it may take off. Always turn the bike power off before dismounting! 

Q: IF IT RAINS CAN I GET A REFUND?

A: Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds due to rain; however, if it is raining at the time of your equipment pickup you have the option to rebook for a different date or time. It is not recommended to use an eBike in the rain. 

Q: IF I RETURN THE EQUIPMENT EARLY CAN I GET A REFUND?

A: We do not give refunds on early returns; however, we may be able to give you a credit for future use under certain circumstances (i.e. rain, etc.).

Q: DO YOU OFFER GIFT CERTIFICATES?

A: No, we do not have gift certificates available at this time.

Q: CAN WE TAKE THE BIKES ON THE BEACH?

A: We don’t allow our bikes to be ridden on the beach. The sand has a way of getting into all parts of the bike, which can be bad for bearings and brakes. The salt water can cause rust on the bike, and get inside the battery pack causing it to stop working. It is extremely expensive to replace, and we will charge the credit card on your reservation if anything on the bike is damaged as a result of riding on the beach. 

Q: ARE THERE BIKE PATHS ON PLEASURE ISLAND?

A: There are bike lanes starting in Carolina Beach all the way down to Fort Fisher Blvd. It is known as Pleasure Island’s Greenway System. Check it out here!

Q: CAN YOU DELIVER THE EQUIPMENT TO MY CONDO, APARTMENT, OR HOME?

A: No, all equipment must be picked up at our store location so we can ensure we have the proper documentation and signed liability waivers from everyone on your reservation. Let us know if you are not within walking distance to pick up your bikes, we would be happy to recommend a local golf cart taxi (or regular taxi) to pick you up.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR DAMAGE POLICY?

A: Our eBikes are inspected regularly and before issuance to customers; however, damage can occasionally occur when riding. A person that rents the bike(s) takes responsibility for returning the eBike intact and without damage, including minor damage or flat tires. Anything that gets damaged during the time of rental will have to be fixed or replaced. The cost depends on what is broken plus the cost of labor to fix the bike.
